What's your Worry?

Matthew 6:25-34

Legit concern vs. Worry

Our thought life can become very distracted. Worry is rooted in earth bond things. Jesus says three times don’t be anxious.

3 Reasons why worry is wrong
            1. Doubts God – who is trust worthy
            2. It accomplishes nothing
            3. It makes us ungrateful

Always trust God and keep first things first.

The way to not be anxious
1. v. 25-29 the way, acknowledge our Father is God – a personal relationship
We typically worry about necessities. God commands us not to. We worry about what God says He will provide for us. Look at the birds of the air (v.26) if God provides for birds He will provide for us. Look at the lilies of the field. V 28-30 Worry is SIN. I Peter 5:7

2. Our Faith is in God vv. 30-32
God will provide. He will give us what we need. A worrier pursues THINGS. Don’t make the unimportant the most important.

3. Our “firsts” are God’s reign and righteousness
Seek Jesus Christ first. Worry reverses the things of life. Romans 14:17 When we worry there is no right

4. Our future is in God’s hands (v. 34)
God lives in tomorrow, we don’t. James 4:13-15 Worry tries to live tomorrow today.

Worry robs us of whatever we need for tomorrow.
